Walking is a great way to get in shape and enjoy all the benefits of being active. People of all ages can benefit from this type of exercise since it is so close to how humans were meant to move. In recent years, more and more people have realized the benefits of walking for their physical and mental health.
An early morning stroll is a boon for the entire day, as the American author Henry David Thoreau memorably put it.
I made an effort to count my blessings in March. Throughout my daily morning walks, I have accumulated 162,094 steps. This amounts to an average of 5,403 steps every day.
Though I fell short of walking the legendary 10,000 steps a day, I did walk more than the 3,000 to 4,000 the NHS reports the average Brit walks in a day.
I joined the FootBolt March Individual Challenge without any fancy equipment to keep track of my progress other than my iPhone and an app called YUMUUV, which helps you set challenges and goals.
I’m addicted; therefore, I’ve set April’s goal at a minimum of 200,000 steps.
